Guapo (Eddie Jimenez) was born in East Los Angeles, CA to Nicaraguan parents.
He moved from LA to Houston, TX at the age of 13 but returned to his west coast roots as a young adult. Guapo eventually moved back to LA and began his collegiate career at The American Musical & Dramatic Academy, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and a minor in Business & Entrepreneurship.
Guapo began developing his sound, which he describes as a mixtape of love ballads, gangster rap and new school flavor. Since then he has performed at SXSW festival and iconic venues including: 1OAK, The Roxy, Whisky A Go Go, House of Blues, among others. After bouncing around the label circuit and frustrated with the lack of support for his artistry, he took matters into his own hands and at only 27 years old, established his own label: RE-UP Records.
